Applications are invited through online mode for registration and admissions into various Undergraduate Courses, such as B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.B.A., etc., offered by various colleges affiliated to Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Satavahana University and Palamuru University which includes Constituent, Government, Aided, Autonomous and Private Colleges for the Academic Year 2020- 2021.
Students can also visit the DOST Helpline Centres (HLCs) or MeeSeva Centre for DOST registrations. As many as 105 HLCs including one State HLC, six university HLCs, 33 district HLCs, and 65 colleges HLCs were established. These HLCs will not just help students to register on the DOST, but also rectify any mismatch with Aadhaar details besides any wrong uploading of certificates.

This time, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education has provided app-based DOST registrations. Students can apply for degree admissions through T-App Folio on their smartphones. The candidates need to provide details such as name, date of birth, intermediate hall ticket number, and click a selfie. The mobile application processes the information using a three-factor authentication by leveraging state-of-the-art technologies.

Fee Structure For DOST 2020:

The candidates who have passed Intermediate Examination of Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana State, or any equivalent recognized examination from other boards/states are eligible to apply. One time registration fee for applying to the university/colleges/courses is Rs.100/- (one hundred only), which can be paid through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking.

Steps To Resolve Issues Regarding DOST:

This year, TSCHE plans to answer student queries through WhatsApp and will also be adding image processing features in the online admission portal. Notification with a schedule for admissions will be released by TSCHE on the DOST website https://dost.cgg.gov.in/.

The higher education council has also introduced an online grievance system to resolve issues if any. Accordingly, a WhatsApp Chatbot with number 79010 02200 has been integrated with the DOST. Students should send a ‘Hi’ message to the number on WhatsApp in order to receive information about the DOST. The registrations for the phase-I admissions can be done from August 24 to September 7 for a fee of Rs 200. Students can use the web options from August 29 to September 8. The phase-I seat allotment will be done on September 16 and students who get a seat must self-report online from September 17 to 22.

Seat allotments Procedure For DOST:

  • 1st Phase Seat allotment- 1st List: 22-07-2020
  • 2nd Phase Seat allotment- 2nd List: 07-08-2020
  • 3rd Phase Seat allotment –Final List: 19-08-2020

For a total intake of 3.83 lakh seats, the phase-I of Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) saw allotment of only 1.05 lakh seats to students for admissions in various under-graduate courses in degree colleges across the State.

  • Out of 1,05,433 allotted seats in 1st phase,
  • Girls were allotted 65,058 seats (61.7 percent) while
  • Boys got 40,375 seats (38.3 percent).
  • The girls secured 15 ranks in the top 20.
  • Releasing the 1st list of selected candidates for under-graduate programs of DOST, TSCHE vice-chairman, and convenor of DOST, Prof. R Limbadri said students who got seats allotted will receive SMS regarding it.

The students who got seat allotment need to report online only (Online self-reporting) by paying Rs 1,000 or Rs 500 as the case may be and are not required to report to the college immediately. The student should report to the college only on July 1. Students who fail to confirm the seat online will forego the seat in the respective phase and has to exercise the web options freshly. Registrations and web options for 2nd phase will start from as per the schedule.

The DOST has over 1.21 lakh students registered for various courses in the 1st phase of whom 1.11 lakh students exercised their web options. About 5,996 students could not get seats due to insufficient web options. Officials said that there are 2.78 lakh vacant seats after 1st phase and expressed hope that more than 2 lakh seats would be allotted after the completion of 2nd phase.
