AP Inter 2nd Year Textbooks 2023 In 1964, an important policy decision was made to change the structure of the Secondary School System from 11 years to 10 years, followed by two years of Intermediate Collegiate Education, in place of the existing Higher Secondary and Multi-purpose system. Furthermore, the existing three-year Degree course was to be supplemented with a two-year Intermediate course. The new educational pattern was implemented beginning with the academic year 1964-65, when an integrated syllabus for the sixth grade was developed. The first batch of students under the new system were in the tenth grade in 1968-69 and took public examinations in March/April 1969.

In response to the recommendations made by various conferences of Vice-Chancellors, eminent educationists, and others, Intermediate course under the new pattern be called the INTERMEDIATE COURSE OF TWO YEAR DURATION and introduced from 1969-70. Thus, the Intermediate Education System (IES)/Junior College System (JCS) in the state of Andhra Pradesh began operations in 1969-70, under the supervision of the Director of Public Instruction (DPI).

The Pattern of the AP Intermediate 2nd Year Exam

The intermediate 1 examination is typically divided into three stages:
